Since I’ve been a student at Lander, I have a tendency to measure things by semesters. “It’s been a pretty good semester,” “It’s a rough semester,” “This semester is going to put me in the hospital,” “I can’t wait for the end of the semester,” etcetera. It makes sense, since that’s sort of how everything spaces out – fall semester and spring semester (with Christmas in-between), and then summer. It’s just easier to remember what semester something belongs to than what month, for instance.
This semester? Yeah, it’s been alright. I mean, classes are pretty tough, and homework is abundant. Hopewood’s yearbook (if I ever get finished with it, it’s gonna be my little nougat of joy) has been keeping me very busy over the past few days. It’s also mid-semester, which means not only mid-term exams, but also third-quarter grades and averages for my Spanish class at Hopewood. Every night means some combination of grading/lesson plans, yearbook, and programming/networking/file systems.
My favorite class this semester is electronics, hands-down. Never have I been so fully aware of what I dork I am as when I’m begging my sister to sit still long enough for me to measure the voltage drop between her left ear and her right ear (It isn’t a whole lot).
You should all go to Jimary Java Friday night. Why? I’ll tell you why. (Well, actually, this flyer will.)
What I’m supposed to be doing right now involves binary search trees, and some sort of code that is supposed to make them work. I’ve managed to procrastinate for four paragraphs now, which indicates that it’s a good time to put my nose back to the all-too-familiar grind.
But I’m leaving you with The Weepies, because it is rare that I instantaneously fall in love with a band, and that’s what happened with the Weepies. Listen to “The World Spins Madly On” (their myspace if you’re more into that kinda thing).
